Track the Tree

On November 7, our tree was harvested 24-miles east of the Village of Cuba, New Mexico. Beginning November 13, the tree began its 1,200-mile tour through 18 New Mexico communities. On November 22, the tree departed Las Vegas, New Mexico and traveled 1,816 miles to Washington D.C.

On Monday, November 28 the tree was unloaded and lowered into a 5-foot deep hole on the west front lawn of the Capitol. Throughout the week of the November 28th, workers will secure and decorate the tree with 10,000 LED lights and over 6,000 ornaments handcrafted by New Mexico schoolchildren.
